Newtown - Mrs. Frances I. Foxworthy, 78, who was postmaster here 35 years died Friday at her home. She retired from the Post Office in 1969. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, Newtown Senior Citizen Club, National Association of Postmasters, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, North Richland Home Economics Club and Quigle-Palin Post American Legion Auxilary at Newtown. Born March 17, 1900 at Attica, she was the daughter of Henry P. and Ella Bell Wisert. She was graduated from Attica HS. She was married May 15, 1920 at Waterloo Iowa to Mark P. Foxworthy. He died in 1963. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Betty Buck of Newtown and Mrs. Leon (Lucille) Humbert of Greensburg; 3 sisters, Mrs. Jessie Noble of West Lafayette; Mrs. Irene Richardson of Bloomington and Mrs. Mary Hall of Paoli; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Crumley-William Funeral Home at Hillsboro with Rev. Everett White officiating. Burial in Old Baptist Cemetery near here. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Sunday. -- kbz

NEWTOWN - Mrs. Frances I. Foxworthy, 78, Newtown postmaster for 35 years, died Friday morning in her home at Newtown. Born at Attica, she was a 1919 graduate of Attica High School. She retired as postmaster in 1969. In 1920 she was married at Waterloo, Iowa, to Mark P. Foxworthy, who died in 1963. Mrs. Foxworthy was a member of the National Association of Postmasters, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Quigle-Palin American Legion Auxiliary, Newtown Senior Citizens and North Richland Home Economics Club. She attended Hopewell Baptist Church.
